MAC SERVICE PLANO

If your Mac is not detecting OS while turning it on, your device might show a folder or flashing question mark at start up. You’ll want to be sure to wipe its startup disk clean before you erase your computer and reinstall macOS. Wiping your Mac’s startup disk clean ensures any lingering viruses are completely destroyed; otherwise, the virus may be reinstalled along with macOS. Erasing your computer erases it completely and reinstalling macOS then setting it up as new ensures everything is clean and brand new from the ground up.
Before deleting or wiping anything from your device, make sure you have saved all your important files and folders. You may not want to wipe your Mac as part of this process (either because you think that a clean slate might fix issues you are having, or because you are selling the Mac) but you might want to back up your important documents first. How you do this will depend on whether you want to recover your Mac into the same version of the Mac operating system, or if you were hoping to do a clean install.

How to Reinstall MacOS

Start your MacBook in Recovery mode : Try discovering your Mac model, whether it is an Intel-equipped Mac or an Apple silicon Mac, you need to identify how to enter Recovery mode, which differs depending on the Mac model. Now Shut down your Mac completely and turn it back on while holding down both the Command key + R keys simultaneously. Release the keys until you see an Apple logo and your Mac will boot into the macOS Utilities window in the recovery partition.
For the newest Mac Models like M1,M1 max and M1 pro max ,Turn off your Mac completely, then press the Touch ID button to turn it on, and then immediately press the Touch ID button down until you see "Loading startup options". Click to click Options, then click to click Continue to boot in macOS Recovery. When you reboot Recovery Mode during an OS reinstallation, you might be required to have an admin password to confirm your identity. Once you have entered the functioning recovery partition, you will be able to see the macOS Utilities window. You can then choose to format your startup drive and reinstall Mac operating system from macOS Recovery Mode.

If you are trying to Reinstall MacOS, launch macOS utilities. Once you have launched the macOS Utilities screen, you will see a round thumbnail next to the Reinstall macOS option. It indicates what version of macOS will be installed on your Mac.
When you hover over it, you can see the name of the actual operating system. For example, if you install macOS Catalina, it's an island in the sea. If you install macOS Mojave, it is dessert. Find all macOS versions and know what operating system is downloadable and installed on your machine.

To begin the installation process, select a destination to put the copy of Mac OS X and select the disk you formatted earlier.

Click Continue to start the reinstallation. You will see a window with a progress bar and time remaining for installing OS.
The Macs you buy today can be fast, powerful and feature rich, but sometimes a fresh install is the only way to get things back on track. Whether it's due to a recent software update or macOS update, you're having a problem with your Mac, or you just want to start fresh with a clean installation of macOS, here's how to reinstall a fresh copy of macOS:
For those of you who are concerned with privacy and don't want to store your data on iCloud where Apple has access to it, we recommend getting a full backup of your data on an external drive. Learn more about reinstalling the original version of Mac OS on your computer.
The reinstallation of old macOS versions on a Mac is helpful in some cases, but can be hazardous when the OS is outdated or incompatible with your device. In this article, we will show you how to use Internet Recovery mode to download and reinstall the latest version of macOS if you are currently running a previous version of the software.
How to Boot to Internet Recovery
Macs from 2013 and beyond, except MacBook Air units made in 2012, all feature the Internet Recovery feature for reinstalling the current version of macOS. This functionality was created as a result of the growing number of Mac users running into problems related to system software incompatibility. For example, if a user installs an older version of the operating system onto a device supported by a newer version, there is a chance it may not work well or at all. That is why it became necessary to create a way to reinstall the most recent version of macOS while avoiding failed installations.
